Well, I haven’t taken many pictures this week, but here are a few of the grounds, and an idea of what my days have been like!
Tuesday: Arrived from Ireland in afternoon. Cleaned (de-spidered) barn room where I will be staying. Had tea and sweet bread. Played badminton with Renie (the matriarch), Jess (one of the daughters), and Mario (a BnB-er from outside Montreal). Washed up. Went with family to have dinner at Laura’s (another daughter) mexican food cart. Helped clean up food cart. Came home. Ice cream and wine. Sleep.
Wednesday: Had a leisurely breakfast with Mario. Talked about hugging trees and the child within us. Weeded. Helped Jess move chicken fence. Wrangled chickens. Had lunch and a rest. Then 6 hours of helping the neighbor with hay; loading bales from the field onto the trailer, then off of the trailer into the barn. Watched the sunset over the sea. Beer and strawberries with the farmer. Dinner and ice cream at home.
Thursday: Light breakfast. Helped move miscellaneous wood and scaffolding out of the barn renovation to put the flooring in. Leisurely lunch on the patio. Helped clean out fridge. Went to town to run errands. Played badminton. Went to Cardigan to the opening of a wood fired pizza restaurant/outdoor pub. Watched sunset over estuary.
Friday: Waffles with strawberries for breakfast. Started weeding front garden. Continued weeding front garden. Had late lunch with family. Made burgers. Went to beach. Kayaked within 100 ft of dolphins. Went swimming. Caught crabs in a tidal pool. Played baseball on the beach. Ate burgers and cookies. Sleep.
And then today I took a day off and continued my trek up the coastal path.

Sounds like a pretty good life. Except for the badminton.
oh GOSH you make me jealous! i would love to do any of that! even the weeding (I secretly love weeding!) if I could eat ice cream and kayak near the dolphins! ah! and I’m sure the sunsets were perfect. miss you.
lucky duck.
