Been doing 22/23k for a couple days now. Knees are pretty good. Still not 100% but mostly pain-free during the day. Still with the group of 5 that I met up with a few days ago. I’m thinking about taking a short day tomorrow but most of the other folks we see are french or german so it would probably be lonely if I got off from the group. Anyway, here are some photos! We’re in Rioja now and it’s wine, wine, wine as far as you can see! And red soil! When the sky is blue (which it has been most days and in the 60s, perfect walking weather) it is absolutely gorgeous!

Tonight we’re staying in an incredible church run hostel actually inside a 15th century church (a back part). Communal dinner and sleeping on the floor! A real pilgrim experience!

Went with Liz last night to our local tapas restaurant where we thought about you in Rioja and I considered ordering the Rioja being offered. Funny you snapped that shot of the communal sleeping on the floor. Last night I asked Liz if we could maybe stay in hotels when WE go and I had a very similar picture in my mind then. Oh for a croissant bigger than my hand.
