Montesquiou and St Christaud

A lovely day. I’m not as sore as I thought I would be, just a little tender in the hips and shoulders from the pack. One more blister today, on the side of my big toe, but nothing that hurts too much. My knees did bither me some this morning when I got up so Im paying more attention to stretching and hopefully it’ll work itself out.

The day started off very grey, although not rainy, and then the afternoon was all sunshine and blue sky. Still a good temp, maybe high 60s, although the paths are still all mud. If its not pavement which is hard on the knees, it’s the mud which is hard on the ankles. Really beautiful countryside though, old villas and green fields everywhere. We passed an enormous duck and goose farm, at least for meat if not the foie gras (I recently learned about how they mechanically force feed them lard-awful). We walked a lot of the time through old forest and Diana pointed out to me the mistletoe on the trees! I also heard a cuckoo today which was exciting to me! We bought a loaf at a lovely bakery for lunch with the rest of the cheese from yesterday, and I also splurged on a coffee eclair which was amazing!!

We arrived here at a good time today an enjoyed tea and way too much cake and torte on the porch with the family. I’m not sure how we’ll manage to eat a big dinner in about 10 minutes with all the cake in my belly, but I’ll try!

I think I’m coming down with a cold, I’m all sniffly and have a bit of a sore throat and keep sneezing. I didn’t get much sleep last night, don’t know why, so I’ll probably crash early tonight. Tomorrow it’s either a 27 k day (more than yesterday) or we’ll cut it shorter if the weather doesn’t hold. Supposedly it’s mostly downhill and flat so we should be able to manage. We also got our first peek of the Pyrenees on the horizon through the clouds!!

I love the photos. And coffee eclair? Shorts and tee shirts – no gloves and scarves and jackets? Liz, Barb and Brie and I walked with the 3 dogs this morning and MUD, MUD, I can relate to the MUD. Thank you for the advertisement for my blog. Hugs and happy trails.

Thought of you today during my yoga class, and want to put this out there, for what it’s worth. Make sure you listen carefully to your body. Feel, don’t force. Rest when you need to. Even though your body is tired at the end of a day of walking, your mind is busily processing all the new people and places, planning ahead, solving problems. Remember to breathe.

Thank you for your thoughts and advice, dear. I’ve just woken up from a nap 🙂 I’m trying to do sun salutations in the morning and a couple moon salutations at night, however some of these places have grubby floors so I skip! The problem is that in France so few places are open this early in the year that we are forced to walk 25+ k between stages… We did catch a ride for a bit today though. Anyway, I probably need this reminder and will feel it tomorrow. So glad you’re home safely from your own grand adventure!

My friends and I were checking the great information found on your web page, but suddenly I came up with a terrible suspicion that I never thanked the website owner for them. All the women were happy to learn them and are certainly having fun with them now. I would like to express my appreciation for not only using the various exceptional information that most people really need to discover, but also simply discover. I personally apologize for not being able to express my thanks earlier. 메이저사이트
