Today I left Wales. The circumstances worked out well; I got a ride with Jess to Oxford, where she works, and am staying with her for the night before meeting my friend in London in the morning. That meant I got the proper send off, complete with flowers tossed at the car as we headed down the drive!

I teared up because I was so grateful that I was able to spend the last 3 weeks there, and was so thankful and attached to the family. I’m sure I will return someday!
To close out this chapter, here are my final two walks on the coast.
This was probably my second favorite piece, only behind the day I was running along the cliffs. I took the bus up to New Quay and walked back south to Llangrannog, where I finished a hike earlier. This completed a 35 mile section from Moylegrove to New Quay. The path was beautiful of course, with some amazing rock formations and huge veins of quartz.

But the reason I have such a memory of the day was the weather. Not a cloud in sight. The sky just melted seamlessly into the horizon, over aquamarine waters.

For my last hiking day I took a LOT of buses to get down to St Davids, on the Pembrokeshire Coast. It’s lovely, but after the drama of the Ceredigion Coast I was underwhelmed by the walk.

I did see some porpoise (tiny dolphins!), seals, and the purple stone that they have in this part of the country!

The town was very touristy but the famous cathedral there was very impressive.

the cathedral, the water, the trail – I’m sad that you’re leaving there too. three weeks was a long time, enough time to get attached. I hope you’re loving where you are landing today.
